November 8, 2011 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The CME Group says unless a decision to cut its taxes is made by the end of this week it may decide to leave Chicago.

The company owns the Board of Trade and the Mercantile Exchange.

CME chairman Terrence Duffy made the statement to an Illinois legislative committee. Duffy says he's received plenty of offers from other states that want the CME.

CME Group watching Ill. legislature closely.

Tax break plan for exchange company faces fight.

CME Group threatening to leave Illinois

One measure would cut its tax liability from an expected $158 million this year to $60 million.
